Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman scored his fifth goal of his debut Seria A campaign as Atalanta seal an important away victory against Empoli.

Atalanta started blazing forward from the onset of the game but couldn’t break the deadlock until after the half hour mark when Ademola Lookman‘s shot was deflected towards Hateboer to tap from 4 yards.

Lookman had the chance of making it 2-0 in the 39th minute but his free kick attempt was handled by Mattia Destro for Empoli which resulted in a penalty for Atalanta.

However, Koopmeiners missed from the spot as the keeper saved it to keep the game 0-1.

Meanwhile, 14 minutes into the second half, Lookman dazzled past Empoli’s defenders just inside the box before firing a low left corner shot into the net to make it 0-2 and secure the lead.

In the 74th minute, Lookman had the chance to score his second of the night after getting on a loose ball, but his shot was well stopped by Vicario in Empoli’s goal.

Tyrone Ebuehi scored a disallowed goal late in the game after he was deemed offside after heading in from close range.

Atalanta are now second on the table, behind league leaders Napoli with five points gap.
