Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen won a penalty out of almost nothing for Napoli to help his team break deadlock in a very difficult and compact match against Empoli and go 9 points clear on the Seria A table.

Both sides failed to create any clear cut chance in the first half of the game, with Napoli dominating possession but unable to breakdown the Empoli defense, a side known for upsetting the Naples team.

The second half started in similar manner until Victor Osimhen stole the ball from Empoli’s defender Marin before being fouled by the defender in the 68th minute to win a penalty for Napoli.

Hirving Lozano stepped up to play the penalty and scored to break the deadlock with the goalkeeper really coming close to keeping the ball out.

Napoli are still yet to have a regular penalty taker with Osimhen and Zielinski missing one each already.

Zielinski added the second goal to seal the win for Napoli in the 88th minute after smashing home a cross from Lozano.

As at the time of filing this report, Napoli are nine points ahead of second AC Milan (playing later tonight) on the Seria A table and could break their over 3 decades Seria A drought.
