Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze was at his best on Saturday night Copa del Rey match against Santa Amalia, having a hand in four of the five goals Villarreal scored while he was on the pitch.

Villarreal annihilated Santa Amaria away from home 9-0 to progress in the Copa del Rey competition as they fight for the title. It is a dream cup start for new manager Quique Setien.

The yellow submarines didn’t break the deadlock until the 31st minute and didn’t even appear like they will score 9 goals in the remaining 60 minutes of the match.

Chukwueze set up Collado for the first goal with the forward excellently lifting the ball over the goalkeeper for the first goal of the night.

Four minutes later, Chukwueze drove the ball into the box again before setting it up for Baena at the edge of the box, who controlled the ball before shooting into the corner of the net to make it 2-0.

And just a minute after the second, Morales scored the third to put the result beyond doubt as he drove the ball he received from Coquelin towards the box before finessing it into the net.

Two minutes after the halftime break, Chukwueze received the ball from Foyth, then dribbled past one of his opposition before slotting a fine curler into the net and make it 4-0.

It was Juan Foyth and Chukwueze that combined again for the fifth goal with the duo really in sync. Foyth pass to Chukwueze inside the box set the Nigerian up to dribble two defenders before firing home for the fifth.

After Chukwueze’s was subbed off, Villarreal didn’t remove their foot off the gas as Francis Coquelin, Gerrard Moreno (twice), and Capone scored four more goals to make it 9-0.
