A bright and spirited Canada fell to a 1-0 to Belgium despite being on the front foot for most of the game.

Canada started the game like they wanted it more and proved to pay off when they were awarded a penalty as Carrasco handled the ball in the 10th minute. Alphonso Davies stepped up to take the penalty but was excellent saved by Thibaut Courtois.

Michy Batshuayi punished the Canadians late into the first half for their consistent missed chances as he volley a ball into the net to score the only goal of the encounter.

The North Americans couldn’t create a clear cut chance in the second half and eventually lost the game to a mediocre Belgium side.
