Ghanaian head coach, Otto Addo has claimed that the West African team have the quality to compete against their European opponent, Portugal, tomorrow.
The Black Stars’ of Ghana open their Group H campaign against Euros 2016 champions, Portugal at the stadium 974 (Rass Abou Abdou) in Doha.
Speaking ahead of the game in a press conference, Otto Ado said ; “I feel very honoured to be part of this team as a player and now as a coach.
“We have the quality to compete with Portugal. We have to be very brave. We want to play football but we also want to defend well. All the Matches are close and I know this match will be same.”
Ghana who are in the same group with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea, would want to avoid defeat to boost their chances of qualifying from the group. The German born Ghanaian gaffer believed what Saudi Arabia did by coming back from behind to defeat Argentina is very possible for his team.
“We Need to be ready. What Saudi did (to Argentina) was marvellous. But we just have to be ready for our game. We had our Last training today, from what I see the boys doing at training, it’s going to be a tough match for Portugal.” He concluded.
