African Champions, Senegal have defeated Qatar to leave the host nation on the brink of elimination.

Most of the first half was dominated by Senegal with the Qataris having limited opportunities.

With four minutes to halftime, a cross that was initially not threatening was fumbled by Qatar defense before Boulaye Dia hit the ball into the near post to make it 1-0.

Qatar finally got their first ever World Cup goal when Mohammed Muntari encroached the space between the two Senegal center half to power a header into the net and raise the noise in the stadium.

However, Senegal quenched any hope of come a from Qatar as Iliman Ndiaye perfect cutback was slotted home by Bamba Dieng.
