The Black Stars of Ghana got their first victory of 2022 FIFA World Cup in a match filled with rollercoaster.

In the 24th minute, Mohammed Salisu put the Africans ahead in the first half scoring from close range after a set piece was delivered into the box. The goal was allowed to stand despite a prolong VAR review for Andre Ayew handling the ball.

Ten minutes later, Jordan Ayew put a dangerous cross into the box which was well headed into the net by Mohammed Kudus.

Back to back goals from South Korea put them back in the game with the first goal occurring when Tariq Lamptey was caught in possession, making Lee Kang-in cross into the box for Cho Gue-sung to head home.

The equalizer came two minutes later with Cho heading home his second goal of the day but this time from Kim Jin-su’s cross.

The match was livelier than ever with the goal successions and South Korea urging to get the winner and complete the comeback.

However, the South Korean fighting spot was quenched when Inaki Williams sent a cross to the far post for Kudus to shoot into the net for his second goal and Ghana’s winner.

This is Ghana’s first win of the competition.
