Marcus Rashford brace helped secure the first position for England in the group B with fans favourite Phil Foden also starting the game.
Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden had chances to put England ahead in the first half but had their shot saved by the goalkeeper and go over the bar respectively.
Later in the half, Joe Allen’s volley could not trouble the goalkeeper. Gareth Bale being substituted off for Brennan Johnson early on in the second half did trouble the fans and the Wales team.
However, Rashford did break the deadlock for England with the first direct free kick goal of the tournament, rendering the Welsh goalkeeper helpless.
Two minutes later, a good high press from England made Rashford dispossess Ben Davies to set up Harry Kane. The England captain put the low cross into the box for Phil Foden to tap in.
In the 68th minute, Arnold pass to Kalvin Phillips prompted the DM to play a long pass to Rashford who dazzled in the opposition box before shooting the ball in between Danny Ward’s legs.
England will now face Senegal in the Round of 16.
