Chelsea defender, Reece James has said he would have “loved” to play with the Ivorian club’s legend, Didier Drogba.
The Chelsea defender is currently watching the FIFA World Cup from home, having missed out on England’s squad due to a knee injury he sustained in Chelsea’s 2-0 Champions League win over AC Milan in October, following a collision with Theo Hernandez.
Drogba sent the 22-year-old defender an encouraging message on Instagram after picking up the injury back in October. “Everything happen for a reason, keep the same spirit and you will be rewarded. Much love.” Drogba said.
During a Twitter Q&A session, James was asked to mention one ex Chelsea player he wish to play alongside.
The London born defender replied : “I would have loved to play with Didier Drogba because I like getting forward and crossing. Then he’s one of the best strikers in history and scored amazing goals with his head. Perfect combo.”
The Ivory Coast international his arguably the the greatest footballer in the history of Ivory Coast. He won four Premier League titles and a Champions League among many accolades at Chelsea.
