Switzerland came from behind to beat Serbia and secure qualification into the round of 16 in a roller coaster match in Qatar.

The match blew up from the start with both sides scoring two goals each in the first half courtesy of two of the three class Serbian center forward and other class players from Switzerland.

Xherdan Shaqiri gave the Swiss the lead in the 20th minute striking a deflected low shot beyond the goalkeeper.

However, turnovers from Switzerland provided Serbia with two chances in eight minutes that they used efficiently to turn the game on its head.

Alexander Mitrovic got on the end of Dusan Tadic cross to head the ball into the net for the equalizer while another loose ball from Shapiro allowed Tadic to feed the ball to the second center forward in the lineup Dusan Vlahovic to score an easy goal that the keeper couldn’t do anything about.

Just before the end of the first half, Silvan Widmer drifted a pass into the box and Embolo’s striker instinct didn’t fail him as he was there to tap home.

The second half started the way the first half ended with Switzerland scoring again to make it 3-2.

A beautiful passage of play from the Swiss got them in front. Embolo shielded the ball before passing to Shaqiri, whose well lofted pass was back heeled by Ruben Vargas to set up Remi Freuler for a shot into the net.

It was the decisive moment of the game as both teams failed to score for the remaining 45 minutes of the game.

Switzerland progress to the last-16 for the third tournament in a row ahead of Serbia who finish bottom of the group.
