Despite not participating at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Super Eagles only dropped three spots in the FIFA rankings and maintains top 5 in Africa.

The Super Eagles were previously ranked 32nd in the World but have now dropped three spots to the 35th team in the World.

Other than not participating at the World Cup, the Super Eagles also dropped because of their recent poor run of games.

Nigeria lost 2-0 to Costa Rica in San Jose a few days before succumbing to an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Portugal in Lisbon – the Eagles’ biggest defeat in the last three decades.

In Africa, Morocco (11th), Senegal (19th), Tunisia (29th), and Cameroon (33rd) all rank ahead of Nigeria (35th).

Brazil are still the highest ranked nation in the World despite losing in the Quarter-finals to Croatia while current World Champion Argentina climb to second.

Back to back World Cup finalist, France are third while Belgium and England complete the top 5.
