PSG reach verbal agreement with Lionel Messi to extend his contract

Paris Saint Germain have reached a verbal agreement with Lionel Messi to extend his contract beyond this season, according to various reports.

Messi’s initial contract with PSG is set to expire on June 30, 2023. They’ve been various reports that he may leave the Parisian giants and return to his former club, Barcelona or join Inter Miami in the MLS.

The 35-year-old who recently won the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina again this PSG teammate, Kylian Mbappe, seems to be enjoying life in Paris.

Speaking to RMC Sport, PSG’s president, Al-Khelafi was full of praise for both of his side’s stars after the final : “Keep Mbappé and Messi? Of course, one is the top scorer and the other is best player in the World Cup.

“I don’t want to say anything for Leo, we had an agreement to talk after the World Cup.” He concluded.

Messi’s relationship with Kylian Mbappe is understood not to be an issue. The two players are in a good relationship and will work towards bringing the much coveted trophy in club football , Champions League to the Qatari conglomerate.

The former Barcelona captain is reportedly set to stay with PSG for at least, another season.
