Days after picking up his Player of the Month award, Josh Maja has scored his eight goal of the season in Bordeaux’s home win over Sochaux.
It was a battle between second and third position in the French Ligue 2 as Bordeaux fight to go above Sochaux into the second position.
The match was bound to be a good contest and it did not disappoint as Josh Maja scored the first goal of the night in the half hour mark.

The second goal came in quick succession as Davitashvili put the ball beyond the goalkeeper just two minutes after his side took the lead.
Bordeaux kept up the tempo for the rest of the half and went into the break with a two goal lead.
Just before the hour mark, Sochaux pulled one back through Kanouté but his goal was not enough to get any point from the game despite Bordeaux’s Delaurier-Chaubet getting sent off in the 74th minute.
Bordeaux now have 31 points from 17 games while Sochaux have 30 points from the same number of matches. However, both teams remain behind league leaders Le Havre with 35 points from 16 games.
