Former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, was unveiled on Tuesday, 3rd of January as an Al-Nassr’s forward at the Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo, who has five Champions League titles to his name, signed for an estimated 200 million euros to June 2025 not long after his acrimonious split with Manchester United.
The five-time ballon d’Or winner claimed his work in Europe is done and has justified his mega-money move to Saudi Arabia by claiming he has signed a ‘unique contract for a unique player’.
“In Europe my work is done… I had many offers in Europe, many in Brazil, Australia, the US, even in Portugal,” he added. “Many clubs tried to sign me but I gave my word to this club.”
“It’s not the end of my career to come to Saudi Arabia. This is why I change and, to be honest, I’m really not worried about what people say,” Ronaldo said.
According to the latest viewership figures, Ronaldo’s presentation was viewed by over 3 billion people on 40 channels around the world.
The FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France was watched by a staggering 2 billion people across the world.
