Odion Ighalo has scored for his fifth consecutive game to earn a narrow 1-0 win for Al Hilal over Al-Ittihad away from home in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday.
It was bound to be a very tense match as the game was between third placed Al-Ittihad and fifth placed Al Hilal.
Ighalo led the line for Al Hilal in the league as they hope to climb up the table, and with just 12 minutes played Michael whizzed his way into the box before squaring a pass to the danger zone for Odion Ighalo to tap in from close range.
Ighalo who scored in the 2-2 league draw to Dumac in the last game, started the game with clear intentions of taking all three points from the King Abdullah Sport City.
Al-Ittihad had the home support and were jeering for the equalizer with Al Hilal almost restricted to playing on the counter after Odion’s goal.
The home team had the larger share of possession and attempts but could not find the back of the net as the game ended 1-0.
Al Hilal are now third but have played one game more than most of their opponents.
