Nigerian forward, Josh Maja scored two goals for Bordeaux against Caen but was not enough to secure the victory as the game ended 2-2 at the Stade Michel-d’Ornano on Tuesday.

Maja scored two first half goals to put his side in a convenient position but Caen pulled a second half comeback to clinch a 2-2 draw.

In the fourth minute, Elis played a well weighed pass to Maja in the box who lobbed the ball over the keeper to make it 0-1.

And at five minutes before the half hour mark, Maja scored his second goal of the night. Michelin stepped up to ply a free kick into the box from the extreme right of the field, close to the corner kick spot. The free kick was headed down by Barbet towards the path of Maja who slotted it home to double their lead.

As the second half resumed, Caen increased pressure on the Bordeaux defense to try to get a goal and they were rewarded within seven minutes as Mendy pulled on back for them to make it 1-2.

Caen got their equalizer in the 82nd minute as Abdulkareem slotted home a second assist from Court.

Josh Maja has now scored ten goals in the league this season, closely followed by Saint Ettiene’s Krasso with eight goals.

Maja has been rewarded for his success this season, winning the leagues Player of the Month for October.
