Samuel Chukwueze got his seventh direct goal contribution in the last six Villarreal games in all competitions on Friday night as Celta Vigo held the Yellow Submarine to a 1-1 draw.

Villarreal started the game with all guns firing, as a cross into the box by Chukwueze was headed to the path of Pau Torres who nods home but was flagged off for being offside.

Celta Vigo tried to capitalize on a misplaced pass by Villarreal but Pepe Reina was up to the task as he saved the shot when fired upon.

Minutes later, Celta Vigo made their own mistake as the goalkeeper’s shot into the middle of the field found its way to Chukwueze who lauded it up for Gerard Moreno to fire an outside the box shot into the bottom left corner and make it 1-0 for the visitors in the 15th minute.

Celta Vigo came close to getting an equalizer multiple times but their efforts was blocked by the resilient Villarreal defense and Pepe Reina in goal.

Eventually, a defense splitting pass from Veiga set Strand Larsen who was playing off the shoulder of the last defender for a 1v1 and the striker didn’t miss.

The host kept surging forward to score a winner but Pepe Reina as up to the task as Villarreal held on to the draw at the Balaídos.
