Victor Osimhen scored two goals to charge an important win as Napoli demolished Juventus 5-1 in the Seria A at the Stadio Diego Maradona on Friday.

It was a battle between the first and second placed team and was expected to be very tight but Napoli had other plans, as they totally dominated Juventus both in possession and in goals.

Napoli were inspired by Seria A top scorer Victor Osimhen as it only took him 14 minutes to get on the scoresheet, rebounding a shot from Kvaratskhelia. Lorenzo feeds it to Politano on the right wing and the Napoli forward’s cross finds Kvaratskhelia in the box, who attempted an acrobatic shot that was parried away by the keeper but only to the path of Victor who heads it into an open net.

Juventus had a chance of getting an equalizer in the 21st minute as Napoli gave the ball away cheaply but Di Maria’s shot hit the crossbar.

In the 39th minute, Juventus defender Bremer couldn’t complete a clearance as the ball fell kindly for Osimhen. The Nigerian striker squared the ball to his winger Kvaratskhelia to curl into the bottom corner and make it 2-0.

Di Maria finally got one back for Juventus just before halftime. The World Cup winner dazzled his way into the box before playing a one-two with Milik. The pass from Milik set up the onrushing Di Maria to shoot into the net.

In the last minute of the first half, Juventus had a chance of drawing level but Meret excellent reflex prevented a Rrahmani’s deflection of Chiesa’s cross.

Rrahmani who almost scored an own goal got a goal at the other end. Kvaratskhelia whips the corner into the box from the right and a defensive header makes the ball fall kindly for Rrahmani who shot into the net and get an important 3-1 lead for the Naples boys.

Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen combine again for the fourth goal to make it 4-1. Kvaratskhelia put an inch perfect cross into the box for Osimhen beyond Szczesny into the net.

By the 72nd minute, it was already 5-1 when Elmas cut into the box to fire a shot at goal that was deflected by Alex Sandro into the net.

The game ended 5-1 in an utterly dominating performance with No having 61% possession and stand out players like Kvaratskhelia who had a hand in the first four goals and Victor Osimhen whose two goals and one assist was crucial to victory.

Victor Osimhen has now scored 12 goals in 14 appearances, four goals more than second placed, Lautauro Martinez with four goals less having played three games more.

This season looks like the 33 years drought of Scudetto will end.
