Nigerian striker, David Okereke scored a stunner, Cyriel Dessers features as Cremonese falls to a home defeat to Martinez inspired Inter Milan at the Giovanni Zini Stadium.
Cremonese took the lead against the run of play when Okereke scored a wonder goal from outside the box. The Nigerian received a pass from Meïté, cut inside to the right and curled his effort toward the far post to beat Onana in goal.
Dzeko had the chance to equalize in the 17th minute but his attempt was wide. However, Martinez didn’t miss his own opportunity four minutes later as he reacted first to a rebound after Carnesecchi parried away Dzeko’s volley.
Inter tried to get the lead before halftime but couldn’t just find the net as Carnesecchi saved Dzeko’s shot, before making a double save to deny Di Marco and Martinez’s rebound.
Cremonense started the second half better with Benassi forcing Onana into a save.
Martinez will make Cremonese pay for their missed opportunity as he was well set up by Dzeko to fire the ball into the net, also receiving a bit of fortune from a deflection that rendered the goalkeeper helpless. Inter led the match 1-2.
Dessers tried to be involved in the equalizer twice late in the game. Firstly playing a low cross to Buonaiuto, but the substitute can only find the hands of Onana with his shot!
Meite then played Dessers in on goal, similarly to how Dzeko passed to Martinez for Inter’s second goal, but the forward’s effort hits the side-netting rather than the back of the net.
Cremonese lost the match 1-2 to Inter Milan and sit bottom of the Seria A table having omly accured eight points in 20 games.
