Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been removed from Chelsea’s squad for the Champions League knockout stages.
Chelsea manager, Graham Potter had a tough choice to make as he will have to leave out two first team players in the Champions League squad for the remainder of the season.
Potter chose to remove Aubameyang in order to accommodate new signings Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Atletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix.
Despite scoring only one goal in 11 premier league games, Auba scored twice in the UCL, both coming against Milan.
Chelsea had one vacant slot remaining but Jorginho’s exit followed by Aubameyang’s deregistration has freed up the space for the new trio.
Also left out of.Chelsea’s Champions League knockout squad is January defensive signing Benoit Badiashile.
Chelsea will take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Round 16.
