Dortmund and German forward, Karim Adeyemi has revealed the secret behind his blistering pace against two- time UCL champions, Chelsea on Wednesday at the Signal Iduna Park.

Facing each other for the first time. Both sides were on different runs of form coming into the match. While the German side had recorded seven straight wins in 2023, Chelsea had picked up only one win in eight this year.

Born in Munich to a Nigerian dad and a Romanian mother, Karim Adeyemi’s stunning solo goal proved the difference on the night with little else to separate the two sides.

Karim Adeyemi picked the ball up on pretty much the edge of his own penalty area, then went on a marauding run that covered the entire length of the pitch before rounding the Kepa Arrizabalaga and slotting it into an empty net.

Karim Adeyemi and his Nigerian Dad

Speaking after the game, Karim Adeyemi was asked by a journalist to tell him what he eats as he wants to be as fast as him. In reply, Karim said ; “I eat a lot of African food but I have good genetics from my dad. So I think it’s a little bit difficult for you to get fast.”

The Journalist pressed further by asking what the African food is called so he could look it up. Karim then said; “it’s called fufu from Nigeria and it’s very good.”
