In-form Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi is set to miss three weeks with a thigh injury, the club announced on Monday.
The German striker of Nigeria descent has been in the media of recent for famously saying a Nigerian food “fufu” makes him fast.
Recent statistics shows that Adeyemi may be the fastest Bundesliga player ever (since they started collecting the data).
After scoring a goal, Adeyemi picked up the injury while setting up a goal for Donyell Malen during Dortmund’s 4-1 victory over Hertha Berlin on Sunday, and was helped off the ground in tears.
“Karim Adeyemi tore a muscle fibre during Sunday’s game against Hertha Berlin,” the club tweeted on Monday. “He will not be available for about three weeks. Get well soon.”
Dortmund are currently in 100% form this year and this could be in jeopardy with their star striker set to miss games against Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Schalke.
The Black and Yellow are also level on a loggerhead table with Bayern Munich and Union Berlin at the Seria A table top.
