Victor Osimhen scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions to help Napoli put a foot in the Champions League quarter final as they defeated Frankfurt 0-2 away from home.

Napoli, the current leaders of Serie A, solidified their position as potential underdogs in the tournament with a victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, the holders of the Europa League, in a match played away in Germany.

Napoli missed a chance to score when they hit the post, but they were given a penalty due to the impressive speed and determination of Victor Osimhen. However, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was unable to convert the penalty, as Kevin Trapp made another excellent save. Nevertheless, Napoli eventually scored from a cross on the right flank, with the ball being bundled in from close range by a former Wolfsburg player who is currently in great form. He nearly scored again moments later, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside flag.

Frankfurt’s situation became more difficult when one of their players, Randal Kolo Muani, received a straight red card for catching André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the ankle with his studs as he chased a loose ball. However, Napoli midfielder Kvaratskhelia was able to provide a beautiful back-heel pass to set up a goal by Giovanni Di Lorenzo from the edge of the box, providing an insurance goal for the second leg.
