Cyriel Dessers came off the bench to score two goals as Cremonese drew level against Sassuolo, but were unlucky to concede a late winner to the home team.

Sassuolo have won four of their last six matches and are in pole position to win this fixture as they have risen from their earlier league bad form.

Laurienté got the home team in front in the 26th minute and Frattesi doubled Sassuolo’s advantage four minutes before halftime.

These goals dampened the morale of Cremonese but halftime talk, tactics and second half substitution changed the course of the game.

Dessers was subbed on for Afena-Gyan at halftime and pulled one goal back just after the hour mark when a long ball from Cremonese was poorly cleared by the Sassuolo defense into Dessers’ path. The Nigerian striker brought the ball down nicely and slotted it into the net.

Dessers got the important equalizer in the 83rd minute when a long ball from the goalkeeper, Carnesecchi, was brought down nicely before going round the goalkeeper and slotting it into the net.

However, Bajrami broke the hearts of the away fans with a 90+3 winner to erupt the Stadio Città del Tricolore home fans.

Cremonese are still in the relegation zone as they sit 19th on the table.
