The exceptional performances of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen for Napoli have earned him another individual award.

He was presented with the award by the Foreign Press in Italy, recognizing his impressive displays throughout 2022.

Osimhen has been a force to be reckoned with in front of goal for Napoli since the start of last year, and he finished the 2021/2022 season with 18 goals and five assists in 32 games, including 14 goals in 27 league games, seven of which were scored in the second half of the season.

In the current 2022/2023 season, Osimhen has continued to impress, scoring 19 goals in 21 league games and two goals in four Champions League matches, despite missing a month of action.

The 24-year-old outstanding performance has now been acknowledged by the foreign press in Italy, naming him as the best foreign athlete in the country in 2022. The award was presented to him by Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis, and Osimhen was dressed in a dark suit with a white shirt during the ceremony.

Osimhen’s incredible form has also positively impacted Napoli’s performance, as they are currently 15 points ahead of Inter Milan with 13 games left in the season, and are on track to win their first Serie A title in over 30 years.

Napoli and Osimhen are set to face Atalanta at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in their next match.
