Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso is confident that his team has what it takes to progress to the final of the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, despite Gambia’s unbeaten record in the tournament.

Although Nigeria’s U-20 team has already secured World Cup qualification, Bosso’s team is aiming for their eighth African championship in Egypt.

They will face the Young Scorpions of Gambia in the semifinals, who have been one of the best teams at the tournament and have yet to be defeated.

Nevertheless, Bosso is determined that his team will put on a good performance to win the match and secure a place in the final.

He stated, “There are no big or small teams in football because it’s only performance and result that counts.”

The last time the two teams met was in the semifinals of the U-20 tournament in Congo 16 years ago, where Nigeria won 1-0 before losing to Congo in the final.
