Nigeria’s U-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, beat Tunisia’s Young Carthage Eagles 4-0 to secure third place at the ongoing 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The game, which took place at Cairo International Stadium, saw Nigeria score four goals against Tunisia.

Despite the outcome, both teams, along with Senegal and The Gambia, who made it to the final, will represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year.

Nigeria’s win was a consolation prize after failing to qualify for the final, but the team can take pride in their bronze medal.

Jude Sunday, who was making his first start of the tournament, scored two goals, while Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ and Ahmed Abdullahi scored one goal each.

Nigeria dominated the game, and despite Tunisia’s efforts, they were unable to stop the Flying Eagles from scoring.
