Gift Orban, a potential striker for the Super Eagles, expressed satisfaction with his performance in Gent’s 6-2 victory over Waregem on Sunday.
However, he believes he needs to improve further to fulfill his ambition of playing in the Premier League.
Orban has been impressive since he joined Gent from Stabaek in January, and his recent exhilarating performances have endeared him to fans.
He scored four goals against Waregem, becoming the only Gent player to achieve that feat in the Jupiler League this century.
Orban is pleased with his performance but feels there is still much to be done if he wants to attract interest from Premier League clubs.
“It is indeed the first time in my professional career. I had never even made a hat trick, but it doesn’t mean much to me in the end,” Orban told Gent’s website.
“My level has to be even higher if ever want to play in the Premier League. There is still a lot of work to be done,” he added.
Despite scoring nine goals in eight appearances for Gent, Opta confirms that no player has scored more goals in the top ten European leagues since his Gent debut in February.
