Victor Osimhen became the first Nigerian to score two goals in a UEFA Champions League knockout game, earning him the Man of the Match award.

Napoli extended their successful run in European football by beating Frankfurt 3-0, giving them a 5-0 aggregate win.

Despite Frankfurt’s relentless attack to try and overcome their two-goal deficit, Napoli had the better chances to score in the first half with Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp making some key saves.

One of Napoli’s defenders made a mistake, but Frankfurt’s Mario Gotze was unable to capitalize and create a comeback. However, just before halftime, Victor Osimhen scored a header to give Napoli the lead.

In the second half, Frankfurt failed to follow a basic defensive rule and allowed Osimhen to score his second goal. Unfortunately, Osimhen was injured in the process.

Piotr Zieliński sealed the deal with a penalty to make it 3-0.

Napoli will join other football heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Milan, Chelsea, Benfica, Inter, and Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
