In a thrilling trilogy fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman at London’s 02 Arena, Edwards successfully defended his welterweight title by outscoring his opponent in the main event of UFC 286.

After knocking out Usman in August to become the second-ever UFC champion from Britain, Edwards gained revenge for a previous loss to Usman in 2015 with Saturday’s victory.

Despite a tense and closely contested fight, Edwards emerged as the majority-decision winner with judges Ben Cartlidge and David Lee scoring the fight 48-46 in his favor, while judge David Lethaby had it as a draw at 47-47.

The co-main event featured a closely fought encounter between former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev, which was widely anticipated to be the standout fight of the night and ultimately lived up to expectations.
