Alex Iwobi has stated that the Super Eagles will make every effort to win both games against Guinea Bissau in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

The matches will take place in Abuja and Bissau, with the first game scheduled for Friday by 5pm WAT.

Although Iwobi doesn’t want to make any promises, he is confident in his team’s ability to win and believes they will give their best effort.

“We’re very confident that we have very good players. So, I won’t promise anything, but I know that we will give our hundred per cent to try and win this game, and we’ll do our best.” Iwobi said ahead of the game in Abuja as quoted by Brila.

Iwobi is confident in his team’s preparation and trusts that they will achieve the desired result.

“We are preparing to make sure that we do everything we can” Iwobi added.

“So, we are going into the game feeling confident. So, I trust my players, I trust my team and trust Nigeria that we’ll be able to get that results,” he concluded.

The Super Eagles are currently two points ahead of their opponents in Group A, and a win in both matches will bring them closer to qualifying for the 2024 African Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Cote D’Ivoire.
