Frank Lampard has reportedly agreed to manage Chelsea on a temporary basis until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The decision came after Lampard was seen in the private box of Chelsea’s owner during their recent match against Liverpool.
The former head coach, who was sacked in January 2021, was open to returning to the club to help them out for the remainder of the season.
Talks progressed and Lampard was offered the job with Ashley Cole, Joe Edwards, and Chris Jones joining him as assistants.
Chelsea had also shown interest in Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique, but they are taking their time to make a permanent appointment.
The team still has nine Premier League games left to play and a Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid.
