Coach Jose Peseiro of Nigeria’s senior national football team has been actively scouting for talented players to strengthen his team’s roster. In addition to visiting Italy, England, and Germany, Peseiro has now traveled to Belgium as part of his ongoing efforts to identify eligible players who can contribute to Nigeria’s success in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

During his trip to Belgium, Peseiro will be closely assessing the performances of two promising forwards, Victor Boniface and Gift Orban. Boniface has been in scintillating form, currently leading the Europa League as the joint highest goal scorer with six goals in nine games, and has also netted seven goals and provided six assists in the Belgium League. Meanwhile, Orban has been a prolific scorer for Gent, registering an impressive 14 goals in just 13 games. Peseiro sees them as potential additions to the Nigerian national team and will be observing them at close quarters to determine their suitability for a call-up.

In addition to the forwards, Peseiro will also be keeping an eye on midfielders Alhassan Yusuf of Antwerp and Raphael Onyedika of Club Brugge. Both Yusuf and Onyedika have been receiving rave reviews for their performances in the Belgian league and could be valuable assets to Nigeria’s midfield.

Peseiro’s scouting trip to Belgium comes at a crucial time as Nigeria prepares for their final two games of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe. With the aim of strengthening his team’s options and improving their chances of qualification, Peseiro is leaving no stone unturned in his search for top talent
