Victor Boniface effort was not enough to prevent Bauer Leverkusen thumping of Union Saint Gilloise in the Europa League.

In a dominant performance, Bayer Leverkusen secured their spot in the semifinals by defeating Union Saint-Gilloise 5-2 on aggregate. Leverkusen wasted no time, taking the lead just moments into the match after a defensive error allowed Moussa Diaby to score. The German club continued to impress, with Mitchel Bakker doubling their lead with a volleyed effort just before half-time.

Leverkusen put the game out of reach just after the hour mark, capitalizing on a goalkeeper error as Jeremie Frimpong tapped in their third goal. Although Union Saint-Gilloise briefly came to life with a goal from Casper Terho, Leverkusen quickly restored their three-goal lead with a goal from Adam Hložek.

The win marks Leverkusen’s first European semifinal appearance since 2002, as they continue their impressive run in the competition.

However, Boniface still remain joint top scorer in the Europa League alongside fellow out of competition player Marcus Rashford
