Nigeria’s under-20 football team, known as the Flying Eagles, has been drawn into Group D alongside Brazil and Italy for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The tournament, which will feature 24 teams from six confederations, will be held in Argentina from May 20 to June 11.

Nigeria will face a tough challenge in their group, as they will be competing against Italy, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.

Despite coming close to winning the tournament in 1989 and 2005, Nigeria has never won the U-20 World Cup. They will be hoping to break that streak in Argentina by putting in their best performance.

To qualify for the knockout phases, they will need to finish among the top two teams in their group or be one of the four best third-placed teams overall.

With five-time champions Brazil and 2017 bronze-medalists Italy in their group, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will need to be at their best to progress to the next round.
