In an effort to produce another set of talented football players from Kwara state, a football tournament called the “Never Stop Dreaming Cup 2023” is set to kick off on April 22, 2023, at the Sheik Abdulkadiri College in Ilorin.

The tournament is sponsored by Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for both the Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest, and is aimed at discovering new talents in the state.

According to Ameen Akota, the chairman of the organising committee, Awoniyi’s academy, Unicorn FA, will play against Sunshine FC at the tournament’s opening match. He added that Awoniyi is committed to giving back to the society that helped him become a successful football player by investing in the development of young players.

The tournament’s final will take place on June 10 at the Kwara Football Academy, and it is expected to draw top players in the football industry. Akota also revealed that all participating teams have received their kits free of charge, thanks to Awoniyi’s sponsorship.
