Nigeria’s Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, played a crucial role in Leicester City’s 4-0 win over Liverpool in an English Women’s Super League game on April 29, 2023.

Leicester City, who had suffered two consecutive losses, recorded their fourth win in their last five games. Josephine Green scored the first goal for Leicester City in the 15th minute, followed by Carrie Jones in the 21st minute, and Plumptre scored the third goal with a header in the 48th minute.

Deearna Goodwin scored the fourth goal in additional time, assisted by Courtney Nevin. The win was important for Leicester City, as they moved from the bottom of the standings to 10th position.

Plumptre, who had just returned from injury, scored her first goal of the season and will look to add more goals in their next league fixture against Arsenal.
