Super Falcons player, Asisat Oshoala, played a crucial role in helping Barcelona secure a record eighth league title with a 3-0 victory over Sporting de Huelva. The Nigerian striker, who came on as a substitute, scored the third goal, which was her 20th of the season, matching her personal best. With four games remaining, Oshoala has the chance to surpass this record.

Barcelona dominated the match from the start and secured a two-goal lead through Jana Fernandez and Laia Codina before Oshoala’s late goal sealed the victory. Oshoala had earlier been set up by Fernandez and beat goalkeeper Zala Mersnik in the dying seconds of the game.

The 28-year-old forward’s contributions have been significant throughout the season. She reached the 20-goal milestone in just 24 games, surpassing her previous record of 20 goals in 19 games. Oshoala is now three goals shy of Alba Redondo’s 23 goals in the battle for Liga F’s Golden Boot, which is awarded to the league’s top scorer.

In addition to her on-field contributions, Oshoala was also captured on Barcelona’s social media platforms showing off her dance moves during the team’s celebrations. The video, which has since gone viral, showcases Oshoala’s jovial personality and her ability to have fun while celebrating her team’s achievements

Barcelona and Oshoala are now gearing up for the UEFA Women’s Champions League final against either Wolfsburg or Arsenal. The final will take place at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven on June 3, shortly after the league season is over. With Oshoala in top form and Barcelona’s recent success, the team will be looking to add another trophy to their already impressive season.
