SLAC of Guinea overcame City Oilers 96-68 to earn their first win in the Nile Conference of the 2023 Basketball Africa League on Tuesday in Cairo.

Dane Miller Jr. was two rebounds shy of a triple-double. He finished with 20 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in 40 minutes.

Four other players finished on double figures for SLAC. Uchenna Iroegbu shot a team high 22 points, made 3 of 7 from behind the arc and 62% from the foul throw line in 39 minutes on the floor.

Emeka Nwabuzor 17, Ibrahima Kalil Fofafna 14 and Ismael Conde 12. Conde also added 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

SLAC held a 44-25 lead at half time which was stretched to 30 points (76-46) in the last minute of the third quarter.

Oilers turned the ball over 19 times and shot 24/74 from the field in a game mostly dominated by the Guinean side.

James Justice Jr. scored a game high 30 points, his teammate Falando Jones added 20 points but it wasnt enough to avoid a defeat to the Guinean champions.

The Oilers are still in search of their first win in the Basketball Africa League.

SLAC will return to action on Wednesday against Petro de Luanda, while City Oilers will take on Ferroviario da Beira on Friday.

In the other game played on Tuesday, AL Ahly defeated Cape Town Tigers 91-75 to improve to a 3-0 mark in the Nile Conference stangings.

Anuwa Omot led the way with 28 points,6 rebounds and went 11/12 from the free throwline for the Egyptians while Michael Thompson added 17, Omar Oraby 12 , Ehab Amin 11 and Amr Zahran 10.

Al Ahly will return to action on Friday against Petro de Luanda while Cape Town Tigers will face Ferroviario da Beira on Wednesday.
