Onome Ebi, the Nigerian women’s football team captain, marked her 40th birthday by sharing some striking pictures of herself.

She is set to make history if she leads the Super Falcons to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in July. Ebi is currently playing as a defender for Levante Las Planas in the Spanish topflight league.

Ebi has had an illustrious career, winning three Belarus Women’s Premier League titles with FC Minsk and their respective women’s cups in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

She has also been a key player for the Super Falcons, helping them win the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations four times in seven appearances between 2010 and 2018. Ebi has played in seven continental finals for the Falcons.

Should she captain Nigeria to the World Cup, Ebi would become the first player, male or female, to feature in six different FIFA World Cups.

Her remarkable achievements in football and her stunning beauty have made her an inspiration to many young girls who aspire to be like her.
