Inter Milan vice president, Javier Zanetti has revealed that he wants the Nerazzurri to avoid Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Inter reached their first Champions League final since 2010, as they picked up a 3-0 win on aggregate over A.C.Milan. They kept a cleansheet in both the legs and have now kept four cleansheets against Stefano Pioli in the same season and that is quite a rare occurence.
Speaking to Sky Italia after the win over Milan Zanetti revealed that he would like for Inter want to avoid Real Madrid.
“It is a great opportunity to return to the Champions League final after 13 years. Who would I rather face? I would like to avoid Real Madrid, this competition seems made for them.
“But now we’re here, it’s been a long journey . A derby in the semi-final is difficult, it happened to me too and I lost it. That time Costacurta was among the first to greet me at the end of the game and there is always sportsmanship with Milan.”
Manchester City host Real Madrid tomorrow, Wednesday, with a place in the final at stake. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, with Kevin de Bruyne cancelling out Vinicius Jr’s strike.
The winner of tomorrow’s game will take on Inter Milan in Istanbul in June.
