Manchester City defender, Kyle Walker has given his opinion on Madrid, after City steamrolled them at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, serving the record winners of the competition a 4-0 mauling.
A first half brace from Bernando Silva, Akanji’s header which deflected off Eder Militao and Julian Alvarez’s strike in stoppage time booked a place for the Cityzens in the Champions League final in Istanbul.
Kyle Walker had a fantastic game on the night, as he managed to thwart Madrid’s attack from the left flank.
One of Walker’s tackle on Vinicius Jr in the first half had former City’s manager, Stuart Pearce waxing lyrical during their thrashing of Real Madrid.
“On what we have seen over 45 minutes, the only thing I can see is this game going three, four or five, to be honest. I am not daft enough to realize that Madrid, given the opportunity to counter-attack, might get something out of the game.
“But at this moment, City are at another level. You flip it on its head when they have had to defend.
“The defensive work from Kyle Walker to deal with Vinicius Jr was quite incredible. It was wonderful defending. They have been almost perfect. Stuart said.
Kyle Walker believed Madrid have a fantastic team but lacks a plan B.
“Real Madrid have fantastic players everywhere, Vinícius is their main threat. When you cancel him, do they have a Plan B?” Walker said.
