Dolores Aveiro, the mother of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, has responded to reports suggesting that she employed witchcraft to interfere with her son’s relationship with Georgina Rodriguez, his girlfriend.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez, a Spanish-Argentine model, have been together since 2016 when they met in Madrid. They currently reside in Saudi Arabia following Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United and subsequent signing with Al Nassr in January.

A Portuguese newspaper recently published an article claiming that Aveiro resorted to witchcraft in an attempt to separate the couple. The report alleged that Aveiro disapproved of Ronaldo’s relationship with Georgina.

Denouncing the article, Aveiro referred to it as ‘false, slanderous, and even macabre’. She emphasized her determination to clear her name and protect her family’s reputation by involving her lawyers.

“On May 16, 2023, I engaged my lawyers to vindicate my good name, which holds great significance for me and my family,” Aveiro wrote on Instagram as quoted by vanguardngr.

She expressed concern about the impact of such news on her grandchildren, who are already exposed to public scrutiny and criticism. Aveiro asserted her resolve to pursue the newspaper until they provide evidence supporting the claims made in the article.

“And that is why I will not give up until this newspaper proves everything that was written today,” she said.
