Ajax attacking midfielder, Muhammed Kudus is set to leave the Eredivise after rejecting a one-year contract from the Dutch giants in April.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian attacker who joined Ajax in 2020 from Nordsjælland, has acquired a long-list of admirers after scoring 22 goals in 48 matches for club and country this term.

Erstwhile Ajax coach, Erik Ten Hag according to various sources is looking to return to his old club once more for reinforcements after already poaching Lisandro Martinez and Antony last summer.

Kudus remains under contract until 2025 but sparked speculation that he could be set for a move by recently snubbing the new one-year extension.

Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keen on bringing the talented player to the Premier League. Ajax are struggling to cement a place in next season’s Champions League group stage, it could also be a motive for Kudus to join any of the three clubs in England.

The former Nordsjælland was really close’ to signing for Everton during the summer transfer window but Ajax blocked the move.

Kudus told Star Connect on Joy TV: “I was really close to joining Everton. I thought it was a good project for me and I felt I should try it. It wasn’t like this season was my first (at Ajax), it was my third. So if I’m not getting the progress I’m looking for, then why not try something else?

“I spoke to Lampard, I had a chat with him to find out the project they had for me, what he thought about me and how he saw me as a player, because definitely that would be the green light for me to decide whether I wanted to move. Without the coach, there is nothing.”

The Nima, Ghana born player is versatile enough to play anywhere across the front three and could be an asset for all three English clubs.
