Real Madrid shot stopper, Thibaut Courtois has revealed the name of the player and team he will be rooting for in the Champions League final.
De Bruyne starred in Manchester City’s demolition of Courtois’ Real Madrid in the semifinal, while Inter Milan saw off city rivals, AC Milan to qualify for their first final since 2010.
Manchester City will now take on Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final next month, June, in Istanbul, Turkey.
Speaking to PrimeVideo, Courtois said, “I hope Lukaku wins the UCL. Obviously, it’s him against Kevin [De Bruyne] but I’ve known Romelu a bit longer. I have a lot of respect for him.”
Football fans read the Courtois’ wishes differently. Courtois and De Bruyne are always believed not to see eye to eye due to an incident that happened in 2012/2013 involving a lady.
According to different sources, Courtois allegedly stole Kevin’s girlfriend back in 2014, she (Caroline Lijnen) admitted herself to having a fling with Tibo, but insisted it happened only after KdB cheated on her.
“In the summer of 2012, Kevin told me that he had an affair with my old best friend. I gave him the choice: her or me,” Caroline told Belgian newspaper Sport.
“I was ready to give him another chance, but our relationship was never the same afterwards. Thibaut gave me in that one night, what I’d sorely missed for three years with Kevin.
“With Thibaut I could have good conversations and he also cooked nicely for me. Such a thing Kevin never did. And then suddenly we clicked.”
